Easter Wreath with Bunny Garden Theme

February 25, 2022 | DIY Seasonal Decor, Easter, Spring, Wreath Tutorials

I’m thinking all things Springy and fun during this cold weather! Have you started on Easter and Spring yet? If you have not now is the time! This Winter weather is starting to weigh me down so I’m going to warm things up with a bright Spring Easter wreath with a Bunny!

Easter Wreath with Bunny in Pink Garden

This cute Bunny has an adorable pink and white gingham top hat that we will tie all the colors into with different shades and patterns of pink. We are going to use a lot of different types of greenery in various shades of green. Don’t forget to leave room for an Easter bow that is simple enough to not take over the design. It will still add a pop of color that will help tie everything together on this cute Easter wreath.

Putting this cute Easter wreath with a Bunny together was so much fun and so simple that anyone can do it. We added a variety of different greenery from Eucalyptus to stems of curly green grass. Using various greenery and florals will give any design much-needed dimension and texture. I really loved some of the unique floral elements that we used to bring in some color with the greenery. A beautiful pink Allium snowball bush is a brand new addition that we use in our Easter wreath.

Using stems that are elongated can draw your eye up and extend the design which is what I did in this design. I LOVE how the lighter pink shade of the snowballs ties in so well with the Bunny. You will notice that I added another pop of color with a darker shade of pink using a pink flower bush. The dark pink flowers are paired with greenery that is slightly flocked which adds even more texture and color. The dark pink will bring out the darker shade from the Bunny’s cute top hat.

They all add so much dimension and texture along with a touch of whimsy! Just add a simple bow that still makes an impact but won’t steal the show. You want to showcase all of the beautiful florals in this festive piece. Top the bow off with a super cute cluster of mushrooms that puts this Bunny right into a Spring garden. Let’s get started!

Directions

  • Start with a 13” grapevine wreath base and add the pink Bunny with the top hat on the right side. Take a green Eucalyptus seeds bush and cut it into separate pieces.
  • Dip the ends in hot glue and start adding on the top right. Keep adding along the rest of the wreath spacing each piece a few inches apart. Add a few on the inner side of the base also.
  • Cover any hot glue with a cluster of Spanish Moss. Spread out and pull the leaves up on your dark green Fern bush. Clip off the large stems.
  • Dip the ends in hot glue and add the Fern stems along your wreath base.
  • Take the pink snowball Allium bush and tear it apart into smaller stems and clip off the large base stem. Start by adding a longer stem on the top coming over the Bunny. Continue adding down the left side of your wreath base.
  • Take another pink snowball Allium bush and repeat the same process, leaving a space in the center to add a bow.
  • Separate your pink flower bush and shake hands with each stem to make them nice and full. Add a couple of stems into the top and bottom, keeping the middle open for a bow.
  • Let’s make a bow! Start with the 2.5” pink ribbon and make a 20” tail. If you see a seam in your ribbon, cut it out and continue.  Make two 6” loops on each side and trim the tails at opposite angles.
  • Take your 1.5” floral ribbon and make 18” tails. Make one 5.5” loop on each side. Trim your tails.
  • Grab the 1.5” pink and white gingham ribbon and start with a shorter tail than the previous layers and make one 4.5” loop on each side. Trim tails at opposite angles.
  • Run a cable tie just to the side of the center and hold it together as you pull off the Bowmaker. Close the cable tie, leaving enough open to adding another tie through the back. Fluff your loops and cinch tight.
  • Cut a 12” length of pink and blue floral ribbon and fold over itself widthwise. Tie around the center to cover the cable ties.
  • Use the cable ties to add the bow into the left side center of the wreath base. Adjust loops if necessary and place some tails behind the florals so they are built into the wreath. Curl the tails up around your finger.
  • Let’s add a cluster of mushrooms! Dip the end in hot glue and add just above the center of the bow.
  • Add in any left-over greenery around the mushrooms or in any gaps. Add another stem of pink snowballs coming from the bottom of the wreath.
  • Take your curly greenery stems and snip them into smaller stems.  Add some curly stems behind your bow and throughout the wreath around the perimeter.
