Witch Hat Wreath

July 26, 2022 | DIY Seasonal Decor, Halloween, Wreath Tutorials, Wreaths

This fun witch hat wreath is the perfect accent to your Halloween door, whether you prefer more spooky or silly décor. We’ve even re-purposed a few supplies from past projects and put them together to create something unique and new for this upcoming Halloween and Fall seasons!

It’s almost that magical time of year when you can start to put away the sunshine and warmth and move into Fall and Halloween! I’m so excited to show you a quick and easy design that you can put together in no time at all.

Witchy Witch Hat Wreath

Today’s design is so fun and whimsical and has so many colorful and festive details to get us excited about Halloween time. We are using some long Witch legs with bright orange and black striped tights that every Halloween Witch needs.

I love being able to re-use or re-purpose supplies from past projects to piece together something fun and new. We have the perfect tall Witch hat that tops candy corn and curly hair that is peeking through the bottom.

There were a few good options of bows to use from Bow Wednesday. We decided on one mostly black to compliment the hat and black details throughout the design. It’s the perfect topper to this whimsical Witchy wreath.

Feel free to add your own details based on your personal preference. You can choose to spray paint your wreath base black. This option is if you’d like to bring a darker color to the wreath base. Add other details to create a design as silly or as spooky as you like for your Halloween style.

Let’s get our Witchy witch hat wreath started!

Ingredients

Directions

  • Grab your 14” grapevine wreath base and add a hanger on the back using heavy wire and twisting through the grapevine base.
  • Take your witch legs and use a cable tie to add to the bottom of the wreath. Clip off the extra cable tie.
  • Add the witch hat on the top of the wreath leaving enough room for your bow. Use floral pins and hot glue to add the witch hat onto the base.
  • Use two curly picks with Halloween patterns and fluff them up and prep them to add as the hair. Dip the ends in hot glue and add behind the base of the witch hat. Do the same to add more hair on the other side.
  • Grab your candy corn picks and trim off the excess stem. Insert into the witch hat inside of the curly pick hair using hot glue to secure.
  • Take your pre-made bow from “Bow Wednesday” and fluff the loops and tails. Use the cable tie to add just above the witch legs on the bottom of your wreath base. Curl up the tails using your fingers. Enjoy your witchy wreath!

When you are a long-time crafter or floral designer, it’s not unusual to accumulate many different supplies. You may even have components from past designs. Perhaps you bought some supplies that you intended to use before and they never quite made it into one of your projects.

Don’t be afraid to let those extra supplies inspire you to get your creative juices flowing and create something new. Sometimes you can surprise yourself with the things you can do with what you already have.

Try to get creative and have fun with florals!
