White and Wild Fall Wreath For Door

August 4, 2022 | DIY Seasonal Decor, Fall, Wreath Tutorials, Wreaths

We are going on the wild side with this White and Wild Fall Wreath for door we DIY’d! The neutral palette can handle the boldness of the leopard print pumpkin. Add some gold with the bow and this is definitely a show stopper! So if you think you need this pretty little thing in your life, and you most certainly do, then let’s get started. You will be so glad you did!

Beautiful White and Wild Fall Wreath for Front Door

This Fall wreath DIY project has definitely got a WILD side to it. I love her! It is okay to call this wreath a “Her,” right? Well, I just did. I love HER light and neutral colors that keep this White and Wild Fall Wreath classy. I adore the animal print that makes it a little sassy too, in the very best way. And the bow! It is just so lovely and luscious it makes my eyes pop. The animal print mixed with the white and neutral are a lovely combination. Don’t you just love how this amazing bow helps set the tone for the whole project?

This wreath is perfect for those looking for a non-traditional fall wreath to decorate your front door or somewhere in your home this autumn season. Fall doesn’t always have to be the oranges, browns, and reds like we are so used to seeing year after year. Neutrals can be your best friend if you are willing to break free from the norms and more traditional designs.

This look can also pass off as the BOHO vibe, which is all the rage right now. Especially with the use of the Gold Pampas Grass Stem. It is trendy and bougie, but not too over the top. This neutral palette can handle the boldness of the cheetah print pumpkins used, both large and small. The pops of gold in the bow make this wreath a show stopper for sure.

So what do you think? Are you ready to create this one beauty? Grab your supplies and let’s get started having some fun with flowers.

Directions

  • Add your light colored Cream Green Mini Fishtail Fern into your grapevine to give you a nice greenery base. Use hot glue to secure them in place. Keep that length and maintain the shape of the grapevine as you add.
  • Use Spanish moss to hide any of the mechanics/hot glue that might be showing.
  • Next let’s add your LARGE and in CHARGE pre-made neutral Cheetah print, white and gold bow using the cable tie. Attach in that bottom corner of your grapevine.
  • Adjust the tails by manipulating them in place or curling them up where needed. Kink them here and there.
  • Next, grab your wood dowel, dip the end in hot glue and insert it directly into the back of your Large Fabric Cheetah Pumpkin to secure. Work your dowel rod into the grapevine tucked behind your large bow.
  • To accent that large pumpkin, let’s add your Cheetah Fabric Pumpkin stem. Trim length from the main stem if needed. Spread out your pumpkins and insert on the left slide of the bow poking up from the top.
  • Next, we will add a light touch with your Cream Wheat Stem. It is all wired so it is easy to spread out and take up space, add dimension, and support that neutral color scheme. Trim into sections from the main bundle. Add a second bush, interweaving with the pumpkin spray above the bow.
  • Work 2 more pieces on the opposite side of the bow accenting the large pumpkin.
  • Fluff and plump where needed. Adjust tails in bow to support new additions.
  • Let’s add in some more greenery to tie in with the base we first added. Insert poking out from your large bow and filling throughout your wreath.
  • Let’s mix in a Gold Pampas Grass Stem to help pull it all together. Trim from the main stem, and remember, less is more for this addition. Work some pieces back behind your pumpkin spray to maintain your shape and structure. Bend them a bit forward.
  • Repeat on the other side of your bow.
  • Grab your Autumn Sword Grass Bush and layer a few small pieces by that pampas, wheat grass, and greenery. Use them as a filler here and there. Add a piece coming out from your bow to keep it fluid.
  • Step back and make any adjustments where needed. Fill, fluff, and manipulate your wired pieces to make your White and Wild Fall Wreath as beautiful as you had hoped it would be! Are you feeling classy, sassy, or a good mix of both? Nice work!

Is it Ok to Add White Into a Tan Design?

In design school, I teach you the importance of having your colors work themselves all throughout the piece whether it is a wreath, swag, centerpiece, floral arrangement, etc.

A single color, can not just be on resting on top, like in this big, beautiful bow. And friends, this white, is definitely a color. All of your colors need to be mixed throughout so it can create depth and a flow for the design. This is really important when creating pieces.
