Get ready for Fall with this spooky, whimsical wreath that is perfect to hang on your front door. All you need are the supplies listed below and a thin grapevine wreath! You’ll be following along and working alongside me as I show you how to turn this grapevine wreath into something full of character in no time at all.

Spooky Halloween Wreath

As a wreath maker, you will start to notice that as you work with grapevines some are more tightly woven than others. You will start to notice the difference in grapevine wreath forms the more you work with them. When you find the wreath bases that are not as tightly woven these are the ones you can jazz up by adding some garland. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to do that yet. In this Spooky Halloween wreath tutorial, I will show you exactly how to do this technique.

In this design, I already had two premade bows. If you are needing some tutorials for bow making be sure to check out these. What I love about this wreath is it is perfect for beginners and super easy to make. Gather your supplies and let’s get started.

Ingredients

Directions

  • Starting with your black garland go ahead and eyeball it and cut a section you think will make it all the way around your wreath. Be sure you go down your garland and fluff your garland before you attach it to your wreath. I call this shaking hands.
  • To make a larger wreath I will be placing this one on the outside of the wreath form. To make a smaller wreath place it on the inside of your wreath form.
  • Weave the pine tines of your garland through your grapevine wreath.
  • Add pre-made bows. If you need to learn how to make bows be sure to check out my bow tutorials. Attach to the bottom left with a zip tie. Cut off excess zip tie.
  • Attach a Boo sign to the top left using your pine tines to secure it. If they aren’t long enough you can use black colored zip ties.
  • Take your fun picks and stems and have them coming out around your bow.
  • Add in some spider embellishments all around your wreath form. Then add a ribbon tail waterfall effect on the top left side descending down. Attaching the ribbon using the black garland pine tines.
  • Then repeat that same step with a different pattern ribbon going from the top right down the right side.
  • To finish up your wreath work coordinating ribbon inside the inner portion of your wreath the same way as you did the outside.
