Royal Bees Wreath

July 13, 2022 | DIY Seasonal Decor, Summer, Wreath Tutorials

Bumble Bees are so popular this Summer and this Royal Bees Wreath will definitely not disappoint! We are going with the Bee vibe and creating a super bright and fun wreath design. I promise it will cheer up anyone’s day.

The Bees are surrounded by beautiful yellow and white daisies that bring out the yellow from the Diva bow and the cute Bees that are buzzing around the wreath. Watch as I show you to fill it with tons of greenery, in different shades of green. Adding texture and dept is a great way to make your wreath stand out. It’s going to be a showstopper and I can’t wait to show you how.

Royal Bees Wreath

What a treat today’s design is for this Summer season. The inspiration comes from my neighbor who gifted me some of her older plants. Y’all know how much I love to garden, so I had to add them to my garden right away.

It has inspired today’s design around the big Diva Bee Bow we made previously. We have three different types of greenery. Some lower-end, and some higher-end, to add a lot of different textures and colors. Each greenery stem is a different shade of green which can add so much dimension to a wreath.

Now we are bringing the drama! Our 7” bright and bold Diva bow is the perfect addition to our Royal Bees wreath. There are even Bees on the ribbon. Which will go perfectly with the cute Bumble Bee picks that we add as well.

They are so cute and look like they are flying straight out of the base. I just love that their wings are wired. That allows you to adjust even the smallest detail to add more depth to your design. Clusters of white and yellow daisies throughout also add a pop of bright yellow that goes so well with our Bee theme.

Let’s get started ya’ll and knock this Summer Bee wreath out of the park!

Directions

  • Grab your 18” grapevine wreath base. Take your higher end greenery and break it down using your wire cutters to separate into smaller stems. Do the same with your other lower end greenery bushes.
  • Dip the ends of the greenery into hot glue and start adding into the bottom of the wreath base. Continue to add around the wreath base spacing evenly along the right side to shape out the base. Leave a small place in the center to add your bow later.
  • Shape the greenery with white berries and dip the end in hot glue. Add into the bottom and start layering along the right side in between the base greenery. Make sure you “shake hands” with each stem.
  • Grab your bumble bee craft pick and break into individual stems. Shape and adjust each stem to add dimension.
  • Take your daisy bush and push all the leaves and flowers towards the top of the stems. Break it down into separate smaller bushes and stems, making sure to trim off the extra-long stems from the bottom.
  • Cluster together some white and yellow daisies and dip the ends in hot glue. Add a cluster of flowers just below where your bow will be placed. Cover any hot glue with Spanish Moss.
  • Add another daisy cluster, using stems of various heights, and dip the ends in hot glue. Add just below the previous cluster.
  • Do the same and add another daisy cluster into your base on the bottom coming up towards the top. Use plenty of hot glue to secure each stem.
  • Rotate the base to start on the top of your wreath base. Add a few daisy clusters within the greenery base on the top of the wreath design.
  • Add your big 7” Bee bow into the center of your florals and greenery. Pull the longer tails behind the base greenery and adjust any other tails to incorporate into the florals. Use your fingers to curl up the ribbon tails.
  • Dip the ends of the bee picks into hot glue and add the first above the bow. Add a second about the bow. Hot glue a third bee underneath the Bee bow.
  • Grab the Allum bush and push the greenery up to the top of the stems. Trim the extra length from the stems and cut into smaller stems.
  • Dip the ends in hot glue and add Allum stems along the base of the greenery. Continue adding stems throughout the floral and greenery on your design.
  • Work in the bow zone and add in any left-over greenery you may have into the top and bottom, adding some extra height to accent the depth of the bow. Make any final adjustments you’d like and enjoy your bee-utiful design!

Is Yellow Considered a Neutral Color?

We have been working a lot with neutral colors that will work well in many designs and throughout most of the year. Yellow is also a fun color that can be categorized as neutral. It also looks great during Summer and is so cheery and bright. It can lend itself to the neutral family but also be a pop of color that we all want in a fun Summery design. What a great way to highlight the fun Bumble Bee bow and picks that we are using in this amazing wreath!
