Directions

  • Start by prepping your Lavender Berry Stems. You will want to break each stem down into two pieces, one with the bigger leaves and berries, and a smaller one with the smaller florals.
  • Begin placing your Lavender Berry Stem pieces into the wreath. Choose a side for your focal point, then add the pieces so they are going around the perimeter, facing away from the focal point. This will show movement.
  • Break down your Hot Pink Twig Flower Spray into thin stems, and then begin adding them to your piece. I started with 4 pieces and added mine around the Berry Stems I already put into the wreath.
  • Break down a few LHot Pink Twig Flower Spray stems even further by cutting them in half, bundle 2 of the smaller pieces together, and add them near the focal point area.
  • Now, grab your Lavender Filler Bush and break it apart. This will be easy to break apart. Add these stems in and around your greenery. I like to have one stem going toward the center and one going toward the perimeter for a lot of movement.
  • Now, you’re going to make your bow. I chose two beautiful ribbons for mine. Add your first ribbon to your bow maker and measure your tail. I love a long tail for this project, so I went with 20”. Pleat your ribbon up, and place it between the rods on your bow maker. Add a twist to your ribbon, so the back of your ribbon is facing up.
  • Create your first loop by looping your ribbon, then placing it back into your center rods. I went with large 6.5” loops. Scrunch it down and twist. Create 3 more loops, 2 on each side of the center rods, by following the same steps as your first loop.
  • Measure and cut your second tail to match your first. Add your second ribbon to your bow maker and follow similar steps for your second ribbon.
  • Start by measuring your first tail. I went with a little shorter tail, about 18”. You can adjust these measurements to make your bow look as you’d like. Create 2 loops the same way as before, a little smaller this time to sit on top of the others. I went with 5.5” or 6’” loops. Measure and cut your second tail.
  • Add the first ribbon back to your bow maker, make another 2 loops, about 4.5” this time, then thread your cable tie behind your ribbon, then carefully remove the ribbon from the bow maker. TIghten your cable tie, rotate it to the back of the bow, then tighten all the way.
  • Cut a small piece of ribbon, about 8” long, to tie around the center of your bow. I love a narrower ribbon for this. Fluff and arrange your loops and tails, and your bow is ready to go on your wreath! You will attach the bow with the cable tie to the “bow zone” or the area you’ve left plain for the focal piece. Weave your tails through the florals you’ve already added.
  • Cut down your Purple and Orange Butterfly Stem into 2-3 pieces. You want to keep the length, but break up the butterflies themselves to spread throughout the wreath. Add these twigs throughout your piece, being sure to follow the lines you have created. I put two above the box, one just below the bow, and one toward the bottom of my piece.
  • Grab your leftover Hot Pink Twig Flower Spray pieces and add them right around the bow. This will add dimension right around your bow. And, voila! You are done!

TIPS AND TRICKS

  • Make this wreath your own! Change out the greenery or bow color to make your aesthetic. If you love eucalyptus, use that! Change the bow color. Have fun with it! It’s your wreath after all.
  • Switch out your bow to make some simple, but high impact changes to your decor. It might be fun to use seasonal bows and switch them out throughout the year! Change it as your decor changes, and this wreath can be a permanent fixture in your home.
  • I love my glue skillet. It’s a simple skillet for the kitchen that I melt my glue sticks in to allow me to just dip my stems in and easily add them to my wreath.
  • If you are worried about placement, do a dry run! You can just add your stems into the wreath without the glue and then move them around until you‘re happy with the placement. Then add your glue for your final placement!

Can I change the colors of this wreath?

Absolutely! This is your wreath! One of the best parts of this project is its flexibility, allowing you to customize the colors according to your personal taste and decor. Feel free to explore all kinds of colors, from vibrant pinks to soothing blues or even a mix of lively yellows. Whether you’re aiming for a monochromatic look or a vibrant burst of contrasting shades, this wreath is so easily adaptable. Let your creativity run wild, make this wreath your own.

Can I use a grapevine wreath outside?

Certainly! The grapevine wreath used in the Purple Wildflower Wreath project works well for outdoor use. Its natural composition and sturdy structure make it resilient to various weather conditions. However, to ensure it lasts a long time, consider placing the wreath in a sheltered outdoor area, such as a covered porch or under an overhang, to protect it from excessive exposure to the elements. Bring it inside during extreme cold or wet weather. With proper care, your Purple Wildflower Wreath can stand the test of time.
