This purple rose wreath has all different shades of purple, but together they complement each other so well. The deep purple roses are such a beautiful foundation to add so many whimsical flowers and stems that help create movement and depth. Follow along in this tutorial as I show you how to work with different shades of one color to make a stunning wreath.
Purple Rose Wreath
Freestyle Friday gives me the chance to dive into all the wonderful new florals and products and just have fun with flowers! I was dying to play with this gorgeous purple rose bush and couldn’t wait to show you how you can create a beautiful design even when you stick with one color. I love adding a unique surprise with purple echeveria in place of the typical and expected wreath bow. There’s so much wow in this easy purple wreath!
Ever since we’ve gotten deep purple rose bushes, I’ve been wanting to use them in the right design to really highlight their beauty. They are gorgeous themselves but pairing them with various other flowers in different shades of purple really makes a beautiful piece. Most of this wreath design is low and close to the grapevine base, but we make sure to add some whimsical touches throughout to add dimension. There’s everything from lavender, purple wildflowers, and tulips in there. I love how the snowball allium bush adds movement a little further from the rest of the flowers.

Purple is a unique color that is so perfect for Springtime, Easter, and even Mother’s Day gifts. You can add a bow to this wreath if you’d like instead of the purple echeveria flowers. I love how they are so organic and go well with the other purple stems and the simple yet classic eucalyptus greenery. Each stem is placed in a way that creates such a full design with not a lot of material. This Freestyle Friday project may be one of my favorites, and I can’t wait to show you how it’s done.
Spring Rose Wreath Supplies and Instructions

Purple Wild Spring Flower Pick
Purple Rose Bush
Hot Glue Sticks
Directions
- Take your purple rose bush and push the flowers and leaves to the top. Cut so that each stem is about four inches long. Dip the ends into your glue pot and start adding to your wreath base. Cover any glue with Spanish Moss.
- Start with adding into the top left and another on the bottom, opposite of the first. Add another purple rose stem on the bottom just to the left. Continue up the left side adding rose stems throughout the base of your wreath. Leave a space on the right side of the base.
- Grab your eucalyptus bushes and spread and fluff the stems. Cut the excess stem off. Hot glue pops of the eucalyptus in between your purple rose stems.
- “Shake hands” with your purple wild spring flower pick and separate into smaller stems. Hot glue stems throughout your wreath base, starting with the top and working your way down left. Make sure you even them out from top to bottom.
- Spread and fluff your lavender bush and separate it into four smaller stems. Hot glue throughout the wreath in the greenery and roses.
- Take the purple snowball allium bush and fluff and separate into smaller stems. Add snowball stems at the top and opposite and the bottom. Add another stem on the left side further down.
- Instead of a bow, we are going to add two purple echeveria flowers on the lower left side.
- Separate the purple tulip bus into clusters of about three tulip heads. Start by adding tulips just underneath the echeveria. Hot-glue more tulips towards the top of the echeveria.
- Let’s add one more lavender bush after separating into smaller pieces. Hot glue some lavender on the top of your design and one more on the bottom.
Why have several options of wreath in one color in your shop?
If you are making wreaths for your own business or a craft show, it’s important to have a collection of purple wreaths to really help your customers catch the vision. Just having one design with a purple color scheme may seem unusual, but a collection will make much more sense to those interested customers. Don’t be afraid to use all different shades of one color to create something unexpected and stunning.
