I love this bright and easy lemon wreath that is perfect to use for Spring and even into early Summer! It is quick and easy but makes a big impact with only a few supplies. Let me show you how to create this beautiful and super easy lemon wreath. Once it is created I can promise you that it will bring a smile to anyone’s face.
The bold yellow and black bow is the perfect touch to tie it all together. Even the bumble bee ribbon works with the bright lemons we use. Notice how I kicked it up a notch by adding more depth and dimension with bright yellow berries and twigs. They have so much movement it looks like they are growing straight off the wreath!
DIY Lemon Wreath Tutorial
This easy lemon wreath we are showing you today is full of nothing but cheer. The lemon stems we are using look like they’ve been picked right from a tree. They are so green and beautiful. We don’t stop there! We definitely take it to the next level by adding a few yellow berries and twigs. This really helps add another layer of depth. While the lemons set the foundation, the twigs and berries in the foreground give it that wow factor. Taking the time to manipulate each element of the stems makes it come to life even more just like in this wildflower wreath!
I like to show you various stopping points throughout the wreath design. This helps you decide whether you keep it as it is or keep layering to add dimension. Every wreath starts with a foundation. Usually, with greenery, there is always a natural stopping point that would make a great piece!
It’s important to think about the extra cost of supplies and the time it takes. Especially when you are designing and producing for a craft show or customers. If I’m creating for myself, I like you to go all out! These are all good things to think about when you are creating quality products.

14″ Grapevine Wreath Base
Directions
- Start with a 14” wreath base and use wire to add a “U” shaped wreath hanger into the back.
- Take your large lemon stems and “shake hands” with them to fluff and adjust any stems and leaves that need it. Tear into smaller stems and cut the end stem off.
- Start building your perimeter by pushing a lemon stem on the bottom of the wreath base. Add a second stem opposite on the top. Be sure to add hot glue before adding to wreath form.
- Continue adding lemon stems by backing up into the transition point where you decide you want to put your bow on the left side. Cover any hot glue with Spanish moss. Create a triangle with your stems when you add them into your base for full coverage.
- Add your bow into the left side of your base. Cinch the cable tie tight and clip the excess. Move the longest tails behind the greenery and curl up the ends of all the tails using your fingers.
- Grab your yellow berries and twig stems and trim down to a 1” stem. “Shake hands” with each stem. Start by adding berries and twigs beside each lemon stem.
- Add the last lemon stem to the bottom in between the greenery. Repeat the same process for adding the twigs on the bottom to mirror what you’ve done on top.
How to Fix a Grapevine Wreath Base
Sometimes when you are working with a grapevine wreath base, you may find that the grapevine is not tightly woven. This causes some empty space. If you run into this problem, I like to use some extra good quality Spanish moss. This helps fill in any gaps you may have.
