Ingredients
Directions
- Start by deciding the length of your first tail by measuring from the end of your 1.5″ Pink White Montana Plaid Ribbon. I decided on a long tail, so I measured 20”. Cut off the end of your ribbon with a nice angle cut to keep your end from fraying.
- Place your ribbon between the center pegs on your bow maker. Create your first loop by looping the ribbon out and then back to the pegs on your bow maker. I decided to make my loops about 7”. Twist your ribbon in between the pegs.
- Create another loop by following the same steps. I wanted 4 loops, two on each side, so follow the same steps to create your other loops.
- Cut off the end of your ribbon to the same 20”, and do an angle cut to match the first tail.
- Add your 1.5″ Solid Light Natural Ribbon to your bow maker. Cut your end at an angle and measure your first tail. I went with about the same length, about 20”.
- Create 6 loops, three on each side of your pegs, following the same steps above. I made them a little smaller, about 6.5” loops.
- Measure your second tail to match and cut again at an angle.
- Put your 1.5″ Pink White Montana Plaid Ribbon back on your bow maker. Measure your tail to be a little shorter than the others, about 18”.
- Create 4 loops, 2 on each side of your pegs, following the same steps above. I made them smaller again, about 5.5” loops.
- Measure your second tail to match and cut again at an angle.
- Thread your cable tie behind your ribbon, then carefully remove the ribbon from the bow maker. Tighten your cable tie a little and rotate it to the back of the bow.
- Fluff and arrange your loops and tails, add a second cable tie perpendicular to the other, then tighten the first cable tie all the way.
- Cut a small piece of your ribbon, about 8” long, fold it in thirds lengthwise, then tie it around the center of your bow.
- Your bow is ready to go on your project!
TIPS AND TRICKS
- Fluff and adjust the loops of the bow to create fullness and dimension.
- Change your ribbons to make bows that match whatever type of decor you are creating. Make a smaller version for a wreath or swag. Add multiple smaller bows to your project. Let the versatility of this fun bow shine!
- If you’d rather use wire than a cable tie, 18 gauge wire is sturdy and works best.
- I used a wire-edged ribbon for this bow, a 1.5”wire-edged ribbon, and I think that works best. But experiment with different ribbon widths and textures to create bows of varying sizes and styles.
