- Start by cutting an angle cut on the end of your first ribbon to create a finished edge. Create your first tail. I made a 20” tail, because I wanted my tails to be long. You can make your tails as long as you’d like. Using your bow maker, place your ribbon at the 20” mark in between the center rods, then twist the ribbon.
- Create your first loop, as large as you’d like your loops to be, by looping the ribbon, then placing it in between the center rods. I made 6” loops. Give the ribbon a strong twist again.
- Create the other loops, just the same as you made the first. I created a 4 loops with this ribbon, but you can make as much as you’d like or think will look good on your wreath.
- When your loops are all completed, cut your second tail the same length as your first.
- Prepare your second ribbon by cutting an angle cut on the end. Create your tail, a little shorter than the previous tails. I went to about 18”.
- Now make your first loop, a little smaller than the first set of loops, following the same steps above. I made mine about 5.5”.
- Create 2 loops the same way with this second ribbon.
- Cut your tail to match the length of the others.
- Grab your 3rd ribbon and create your first tail, a little shorter than the others. Mine were about 16” long.
- Make your loops. I made 4 with this third ribbon. Cut your second tail.
- Cut a piece of your first ribbon again to make a “bow tie”. This is a loop that doesn’t have a tail. You’ll set it in between your center pegs to create two loops with no tail.
- Grasp your ribbons and slowly pull them off the bow maker base. Loosely add your zip tie around the center of your wreath.
- Pull the ribbons the rest of the way off the bow maker. You will want to be careful so you don’t mess up the loops you just made. Turn your zip tie so it’s on the back of your bow.
- Fluff each section out, and separate your loops. Manipulate your tails down. Add a second zip tie to the back of your wreath to attach it to your wreath.
- Cut a small piece of ribbon for your center. Fold it in half lengthwise and tuck it in between your loops to cover up your zip ties. Tie in the back. Your bow is all done!

TIPS AND TRICKS
- It will likely be easier to create this bow with 2 or 3 different widths of ribbons. I like a wider 2.5” ribbon and a smaller 1.5” ribbon to give some dimension. It also makes it much easier to separate your loops in the end.
- Make the bow as big or small as you’d like! This same technique can be used for tiny bows or really large bows. You make the loops and tails, whatever length you need.
What type of ribbon works best for this bow?
I have used all kinds of ribbons with this bow and they all have worked pretty well. I love wire-edged ribbon because it helps the loops keep their shape and I can curl the tails. But grosgrain would work well for smaller bows, and non-wired-edged ribbons would work as well. You just might have a harder time fluffing and helping the loops stand up.
How many yards of ribbon will I need?
The amount of ribbon you’ll need depends on how big your bow is. I used three 10 yard rolls and I had plenty left over to make a couple more bows. If you have a larger bow, you might need more than that.
Is this a good bow for beginners?
This bow is great for beginners! It’s just making loops and twisting. There is no complicated tying or maneuvering. Anyone can make this bow.

- Start by finding cutting the styrofoam so it is nestled inside of the Green Frankenstein Bucket so that it sits nicely inside and glue down. I like to use both Gorilla Glue and Hot Glue to really secure it for both now and long term.
- Cut Black Garland Base into small sections and set your base, spreading for maximum coverage.
- Prep your picks by grabbing your Purple Green Orange Felt Ball Twig Sprays. Sseparating them into smaller picks. You can also twist the black chenille around your finger to create a fun effect.
- Trim your Glitter Eye Ball Picks and add to the stryofoam. Be sure to space them for the best visual display.
- Cut and prep the White Black Chenille Curly Stems add some dimension to them by curling with your fingers to really give them life.
- Stem back and look at your your centerpiece. Are thier bald or blank spaces? Fluff you black garland to fill and use the wires in your products from Keleas.com to really get the pieces where you want them.
- Grab one of your Glitter Curly Velvet Ball Picks and trim the stem down to a couple of inches. Fluff out your pick, and then place it to the left of your bow, tucking it behind the bow to have it peek out from behind it.
