Year Round Greenery Wreath

Picture a delightful grapevine wreath adorned with three types of artificial greenery, creating a timeless masterpiece that lasts beyond the seasons. Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a DIY newbie, this wreath is here to bring a touch of nature to your space, offering year-round beauty that evolves with the changing months.

This project is all about the joy of simplicity, making it the perfect adventure for anyone, regardless of your crafting expertise. Picture yourself arranging artificial greenery on a reliable grapevine wreath – it’s a bit like bringing nature indoors without the mess of real leaves.

You’ll be surprised at how quickly this wreath comes together, turning a simple grapevine into a work of art that lasts for years. It’s not just a craft; it’s a delightful journey of adding a touch of nature to your home with minimal effort and maximum fun.

What makes the Year-Round Greenery Wreath a true winner is its versatility in keeping your home stylish between holidays. It’s the ultimate between-celebrations decor, effortlessly elevating your space with a touch of nature. This wreath isn’t just a one-hit wonder for special occasions; it’s your year-round companion. Crafting this wreath isn’t just about making a beautiful piece; it’s about making your home feel cozy and adorned every day, turning your space into a haven of timeless beauty.

Directions

  • Start by prepping your first Mini Fishtail Fern Bush. I like to push the leaves up on the stems to create more body toward the top of the stem. Cut your stems off your bush, leaving quite a long stem. You can always trim the stem but it’s harder to add more stem back.
  • Start placing your fern stems around the perimeter of your wreath. I dip mine in my glue skillet before sticking them in. Have all your stems moving around the outside of your wreath, creating movement and drawing the eye around the piece.
  • Cut the raffia off your first Sage Green Long Leaf Seed Eucalyptus Bundle. This creates beautiful stems already ready for you to use. Cut each small stem down to about 3”, and then begin placing them around your wreath, in between the fern pieces you’ve already added. This will add movement and texture to your project.
  • Prep your second Mini Fishtail Fern Bush. Push the leaves up again, but even more than first so that this second bush has shorter stems than the first to create some layering. Cut the stems to about 2”.
  • Add these shorter stems to your wreath, in front of the eucalyptus stems. This will have these stems a little closer to the center, and add even more dimension to your wreath.
  • Now grab your second Sage Green Long Leaf Seed Eucalyptus Bundle. We’re going to do the same as with the second fern bush, and cut the stems even shorter for these eucalyptus stems. We will be layering these on top to create even more dimension.
  • Add these stems behind your second layer of fern stems. I call this “piggy backing”, where you stick the eucalyptus stem directly behind the fern stems.
  • Using your left over eucalyptus stems, add a bit more dimension to the perimeter. Every other fern stem, add another eucalyptus stem to fill the perimeter out.
  • Now prep your first Boxwood Bush by pushing up the leaves on the stems, and trimming your stems to about 3” stems. This will be the third tone of greenery in this wreath and will take it to the next level!
  • Add these boxwood stems to the very center of the wreath. These will go into your wreath one after the other to create the center base of your wreath.
  • Add your bow, if you want to add one. There are a few places you could put it, at the top or bottom of the wreath, or off to one side. I would just lay your bow around the wreath and decide where you like it best!
  • Voila! Your wreath is finished and gorgeous!

TIPS AND TRICKS

  • Make this wreath your own! Change out the greenery or bow color to make your aesthetic. If you love eucalyptus, use that! Change the bow color. Have fun with it! It’s your wreath after all.
  • Switch out your bow to make some simple, but high impact changes to your decor. It might be fun to use seasonal bows and switch them out throughout the year! Change it as your decor changes, and this wreath can be a permanent fixture in your home.
  • I love my glue skillet. It’s a simple skillet for the kitchen that I melt my glue sticks in to allow me to just dip my stems in and easily add them to my wreath.
  • If you are worried about placement, do a dry run! You can just add your stems into the wreath without the glue and then move them around until you‘re happy with the placement. Then add your glue for your final placement!

How do I secure greenery to the grapevine wreath to ensure it stays in place?

Securing the artificial greenery to your grapevine wreath for the Year-Round Greenery Wreath is a breeze. I love using hot glue and my glue pot, applying a small amount to the bottom of each piece of greenery before pressing it firmly onto the grapevine. I love my glue skillet for this because it makes the hot glue so easy to use. This not only anchors the greenery securely but also creates a seamless and natural look. The hot glue dries quickly, offering a sturdy hold that withstands the test of time, ensuring your wreath stays intact and beautiful for years to come.

What are some creative ways to customize the wreath for different seasons?

Customizing your Year-Round Greenery Wreath for various seasons is a delightful way to keep things fresh and exciting. Consider incorporating small embellishments like miniature ornaments for a festive touch during the holidays or intertwine delicate flowers for a vibrant spring look.

During autumn, tuck in faux berries or small pumpkins to infuse a cozy, harvest feel. To add a personal touch, you can switch out the bow, opting for bright, floral patterns for spring and summer, warm hues for fall, and perhaps a touch of sparkle for the winter holidays.

This versatile wreath allows you to experiment and get creative, ensuring that it seamlessly complements the changing seasons and brings a burst of joy to your home year-round.
