Fall Grapevine Wreath with a Simple Bow

October 26, 2021 | DIY Seasonal Decor, Fall, Wreath Tutorials

There are so many wonderful designs we can share during this Fall season from swags to wreaths, and today’s is a beauty! Let me show you how to put together a beautiful Fall wreath using one of the bows we have made during our Bow Wednesdays.

DIY Fall Grapevine Wreath

I love the greenery of this wreath because it uses a lot of rusty oranges and browns which always go well with any Fall seasonal décor. There’s a touch of olive in there too with the greenery which adds so much depth to the color palette.

You can let the olive greenery, orange leaves, and Fall berries speak for themselves or you can kick it up a notch and add a gorgeous bow that we’ve created together. If you remember this bow we kept it simple and stuck to some traditional orange and white stripes.

It’s so important to put the extra effort into making sure you are “shaking hands” with each bush or spray you use. This really takes the dimension up to a new level. It will add such depth and an expensive look and feel to each piece when you take the time to make each component be top quality.

You’ll see the appreciation in your guest’s or customers’ eyes when you go the extra mile in creating these beautiful pieces. Let’s get started on this Fall wreath!

Ingredients

  • 14” Grapevine Wreath Base

  • Wreath Hanger

  • 2 Fall Leaf and Berry Sprays

  • 2 Rust and Olive Greenery Bush

  • Spanish Moss

  • Cable Tie

  • Wire Cutters

  • Glue Pot with Hot Glue

Directions

  • Start by putting your wreath hanger on the back top of the base by twisting both ends into the grapevine and giving yourself enough in between to easily hang your final piece.
  • Shake hands with your fall leaf and berry spray by spreading out each branch and twisting any twigs around your finger to add some whimsy. Tear the spray into 3 sections and clip the extra stem with your wire cutters.
  • Dip the ends in hot glue and add a fall leaf stem on the top of your wreath base and a second on the bottom. If you see any hot glue, cover it with a bit of Spanish moss. Glue a third stem into the left side of your wreath base.
  • Repeat the same process to fluff and “shake hands” with a second fall leaf and berry spray making sure everything is facing forward. Tear into 2 separate pieces and clip any excess stem.
  • Add a stem onto the left side and work it into the middle. Insert your last spray into the bottom of your base pointing downward.
  • “Shake hands” with your rust and olive greenery spray and curl any twigs with your fingers. Tear this spray into separate pieces before adding to your wreath. Trim the excess stems with your wire cutters.
  • Add some rust and olive greenery on the top of your wreath base. Hot glue another stem of greenery on the left side just above the fall leaf stems. Let’s put some more greenery in the bottom of the base and on the left side pointing towards the center.
  • Grab another bush of the rust and olive colored greenery and “shake hands” with it before tearing into separate pieces. Keep some length on your stems to add some height and dimension. Add a piece on the left side towards the bottom coming downward.
  • Take a pre-made Bow from Bow Wednesday and fluff each loop and adjust the tails. I’m going to use simple 2-1 Bow with a variety of orange and white striped ribbon. Use a zip tie to attach the bow into the left side between the greenery and leaf clusters.
  • Trim or curl any ribbon tails to fit the dimensions of the wreath. I’m going to run a tail behind the base coming downward. To finish it off then add one more stem of rust and olive greenery just above the bow on the left. Make any final adjustments and enjoy your beautiful Fall wreath!
