This peony wreath with berries was so much fun to work on. The faux berries, buds, branches, and blooms were from a previous monthly wreath box that went out. It just seemed appropriate to publish this one ASAP since peonies are at its peak in May.
The amazing thing about faux stems is that we can design with it all year round.
Stunning Handmade Peony Wreath
The key to this design it to have equal distribution. We really want to measure out what we’ve got before we get going. That’s the trickiest part of it. We want to get a nice, fluid look.
Ingredients
(1) Yellow floral and greenery mixed bush
(3) Different wildflower filler bush
(1) Peony bush
Directions
- Trim and separate each stem in the yellow floral and greenery bush.
- Fluff out each stem.
- Break down the filler bush the same way.
- Trim any excess stems.
- Give your yellow floral and greenery stem a dip into the hot glue.
- Insert in between the vines of the grapevine wreath. Following the curve of the wreath.
- Cover any bare spots by the stems with moss.
- In between the yellow florals, add the first wildflower filler stems. Make sure to dip in hot glue before inserting into the wreath base.
- Add more of the first wildflower filler stems at the midpoint between bushes.
- Now break down the remaining wildflower floral bushes and clean them up.
- Continue to add individual stems in between existing bushes, equally distributing stems.
- Add moss as needed.
- Now it’s time to add those peony bush.
- Push the leaves up toward the peony blooms.
- Cut each stem down to 3″ that way you don’t have to cover it up too much.
- Separate the the peony buds into large and small blooms.
- Do a test run of the placement of the large blooms.
- Next, repeat with the smaller blooms.
- Once you’re satisfied, add your hot glue to secure them in place.
- You can bend the blooms upward so they are facing outward.
- Add any filler flowers to fill the gaps.
- Now, take the florals on the outside and make them work between the flowers. Bring them in a little bit to make it a cohesive.
- Fill in any other gaps to hide the mechanics.

Why do you trim and separate bushes when making a peony wreath?
We do that because we need it to be nice and neat when we put these in our wreath base.
What are the monthly BBBB subscription boxes?
It’s a monthly subscription box that includes different berries, buds, branches, and blooms that come directly to your door every month. The contents are valued at $100, but the subscription is $79.97/month (shipping not included).
Don’t miss out on the fun! To learn more about our BBBB Box and secure your spot, text “BBBB Box” to 832-734-5201. Hurry, limited spots are available!
If you make wreaths and you love to design, but you’re not sure what’s going to go together or what coordinates – that’s the advantage of joining our subscription box. We take all the thought out of the process and just send you beautiful things that coordinate together. So you have a winning recipe.
How many wreaths can I make from the subscription box?
It depends on how big and how much you use in your projects. I would say usually two if they’re the smaller wreaths. If you make a really big one, maybe just one. But it just depends on how much we put in there and how many fancy floral bushes or how much more basic bushes we have each month as far as the value goes.
