Ready to dive in? We’ll guide you through each step to ensure your Blue Sunflower Metal Bucket Arrangement turns out beautifully. With just a few materials and a dash of creativity, you’ll have a stunning piece that adds charm and elegance to any area of your home. Let’s get started and create something wonderful together!

Directions

  • Start by prepping your Tartan Plaid Bucket with Wooden Handle for your florals by adding some floral foam into the bucket. I added a good bit of hot glue to the foam to really anchor it into the pocket.
  • Start preparing your 2 Blue Sunflower Stems by facing all the sunflowers toward the front and cutting the stems down to about 2”. Take one of your sunflower stems and break it down into 3 stems, one flower on each stem.
  • Add your tall Blue Sunflower Stems bush to the left side of your piece. I added mine toward the back to start adding some movement.
  • Grab the three stems you cut off your second sunflower stem and add those to the right side of the foam, creating even more movement.
  • Prepare your Mini Fishtail Fern Bushes by pushing some of the leaves up a bit, then cut each stem off the bush. I did about a 2” stem. Cut 3 long stems off the second bush before pushing the rest of the leaves up a bit and cutting them off.
  • Add your three longer fern pieces in and around the taller sunflower stem, then add 3 shorter fern pieces around the shorter sunflower stems.
  • Now, use the rest of your fern stems to fill out the rest of your design. I start in the middle and move out.
  • Cut your White Filler Flower Twig bush into 3 separate pieces.
  • Add your tallest stem to the middle of your design, to the right of the tallest sunflower stem.
  • Add the other two White Filler Flower Twig stems to the front of your design, one facing toward the left and one toward the right.
  • And voila! Your project is done!

TIPS AND TRICKS

  • I wanted to make this project seasonal, but not necessarily patriotic, but if you want a patriotic project, add some red berries or flowers and you have a beautiful patriotic decor piece.
  • Consider adding other embellishments like berries or ribbon for extra fun and charm.
  • Step back periodically to assess the placement and appearance of your bucket, making any necessary adjustments for your perfect project.

How can I secure the floral foam inside the metal bucket?

To secure the floral foam inside the metal bucket, hot glue is a perfect option. Begin by cutting the floral foam to fit snugly inside the bucket. Apply a generous amount of hot glue to the bottom of the foam, then press it firmly into place inside the bucket. Hold it for a few seconds to ensure a strong bond. This method provides a stable base for your greenery and sunflowers, keeping everything securely in place as you arrange your design.

How do I maintain the arrangement to keep it looking fresh and vibrant year-round?

To maintain your Blue Sunflower Metal Bucket Arrangement and keep it looking fresh and vibrant year-round, follow these simple tips. First, if you’re using faux greenery and sunflowers, dust them regularly with a soft cloth or a feather duster to prevent buildup. Keep the arrangement out of direct sunlight to prevent fading. If needed, gently reshape the greenery and flowers to maintain a full and balanced look. Finally, clean the metal bucket occasionally to maintain its shine and prevent any tarnishing.
